About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the month‑end close process, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and public‑company reporting standards. This role works closely with the accounting, finance, and audit teams to deliver timely and accurate financial information in a fast‑paced, SOX‑compliant environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience; public company experience required (either direct industry experience or public accounting exposure to public clients).
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and standard accounting practices.
  • Experience working within SOX-compliant environments.
  • Proficiency with ERP accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or progress toward CPA.
  • Experience with SEC reporting or assisting with audit requests.
  • Experience in a fast‑growth or complex corporate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and book journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations as part of the month‑end and quarter‑end close cycles.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules for SEC reporting (10‑Q, 10‑K, and other filings).
  • Support quarterly and annual external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Ensure proper documentation and execution of internal controls, including adherence to SOX requirements.
  • Analyze variances and trends to support management decision‑making.
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, prepaid schedules, and other recurring processes.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline close and reporting timelines.
  • Support ad‑hoc accounting projects and cross‑functional initiatives as needed.
