Staff Accountant-Hybrid (Palm City, FL) Allegion is looking for a Staff Accountant to work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, security and access management. You’ll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live and thrive.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting
  • 3-5 years of solid experience in staff accounting
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel & Dynamics)
  • Usage of ERPs and/or Business Central software

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) & Billing Generate and distribute accurate customer invoices and statements.
  • Apply daily cash receipts to customer accounts.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Support collections and escalate past-due accounts.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to resolve billing disputes.
  • Accounts Payable (AP) & Vendor Management Process vendor invoices with correct GL and cost center coding.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies with internal teams and vendors.
  • Maintain Vendor Master File, including onboarding, W-9/W-8 collection, banking verification, and documentation.
  • Execute vendor payments in line with approval requirements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding items.
  • Ensure compliance with payment terms and manage discounts.
  • General Ledger & Month-End Close Prepare and post journal entries with proper support and approvals.
  • Perform accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and payroll-related reconciliations.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules.
  • Maintain organized GL documentation.
  • Compliance & Audit Support Ensure adherence to GAAP, SOX, and internal policies.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Track SOX issues and remediation activities.
  • Support annual compliance tasks (e.g., 1099 filings).
  • Additional Expectations Maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Meet close timelines and KPI targets.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Protect confidentiality of financial data.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
