About The Position

Support the Accounting and Finance team in delivery of accurate and timely monthly reports. Coordinate and carry out administrative and accounting functions for all North America locations. Utilize our ERP (IFS) to record accounting entries and extract data for reconciliation and reporting purposes. JOB SCOPE/DIMENSIONS Apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare reports. Record financial information and ensure accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting principles. Review and maintain the accounting system and all interfaces with the general ledger system. Develop reports for management.

Requirements

  • College or University education in the field of Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting knowledge and experience
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Time Management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enterprise software experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous mining or manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with IFS a plus.
  • Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, formula functions, and macros

Responsibilities

  • Process monthly journal entries, including the following: standard, recurring journal entries, allocations and specific entries as part of unique transactions.
  • Regular review of general ledger accounts, including preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the audit process by providing timely and accurate supporting documentation.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Assist with managing the fixed assets ledger and capex process.
  • Work as a liaison with the sites on capex spend, including actual, forecast, and budgeted capex.
  • Utilize and maintain various systems and tools that support the accounting process (examples: Concur, FloQast, QlikView).
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to post to the General Ledger.
  • Review tax assessments, invoices, and other reports to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulatory taxing authorities for sales, use, property, federal and provincial taxes, as applicable, and other governmental reporting requirements.
  • Document and publish processes and procedures.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis of data for senior management.
  • Review system reports to identify and report system errors.
  • Act as a backup for other administration functions, if required, and within the current scope of work.
  • Work closely with all of Finance to improve efficiency of accounting processes.
