About The Position

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing and cost accounting environment. This is a great opportunity for a developing accounting professional who is ready to leverage their experience and take on greater responsibility in both financial reporting and operational accounting. This is a full time role, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, and will be based out of our Fargo, ND printing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office applications, Google Sheets, and Crystal Reports
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and time-management skills, and a willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with/exposure to consolidated entities is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own key areas of the monthly close, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and identifying and resolving variances, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Analyze job cost and production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve profitability and operational decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, identifying inefficiencies and recommending automation, standardization, and better control measures
  • Take ownership of balance sheet integrity, including inventory and manufacturing-related accounts, and proactively investigate discrepancies
  • Partner with operations and leadership to provide actionable financial insights, including budget-to-actual analysis and forward-looking forecasts
  • Prepare and enhance financial reporting, focusing on accuracy, clarity, and usefulness for decision-makers
  • Actively contribute to system and workflow improvements, helping to modernize accounting processes and increase scalability across all entities
  • Support and improve the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy while identifying opportunities to streamline and strengthen controls
  • Participate in multi-entity accounting and consolidation activities, gaining exposure to more complex accounting structures
  • Ensure compliance with sales tax and other regulatory requirements, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency in filings
  • Take initiative on special projects, including process redesign, reporting enhancements, and cross-functional finance initiatives
