The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial record‑keeping while supporting all areas of the administrative and accounting teams. This role partners closely with internal departments and remote branch locations to maintain compliance with corporate accounting policies and deliver accurate financial reporting. The Staff Accountant also provides a high level of service to customers, employees, and business partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Enthusiastic, self‑motivated, and detail‑oriented professional with a strong desire to succeed

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with corporate‑wide accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Assist with the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial reporting
  • Perform daily cash reconciliations, as applicable
  • Complete daily Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger account reconciliations
  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable and Customer Invoice Reconciliation teams to resolve discrepancies identified during daily reporting
  • Partner with internal departments to identify, research, and resolve accounting issues
  • Support local managers and staff at remote branch locations to ensure proper intercompany billing and accounting practices
  • Provide backup coverage and support for the Accounting Manager, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions as needed
  • Work with internal and external accountants during the year‑end close process
  • Monitor customer credit compliance in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures set forth by the SFC Accounting Team
  • Other duties as assigned
