Staff Accountant
About The Position
We are seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented Staff Accountant with 2–4 years of accounting experience to join our growing regional banking organization. This role is ideal for a high-performing professional with strong technical accounting skills and the desire to take on increasing responsibility within a dynamic finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, general ledger integrity, regulatory reporting support, internal controls, and special finance initiatives. Financial Reporting & Close Process Prepare and post journal entries and supporting schedules Own assigned areas of the monthly and quarterly close process Perform detailed account reconciliations (cash, loans, deposits, investments, accruals) Support quarterly and annual financial statement preparation Analysis & Controls Perform variance analysis and explain fluctuations Identify process improvements and automation opportunities Assist with ad hoc analyses requested by senior leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2–4 years of accounting experience
- Strong technical accounting understanding
- Advanced Excel skills

- Industry experience in: Financial services or Regional/community banking accounting
- Direct experience in: Loan accounting, Deposit accounting, Investment securities accounting
- Experience with banking core systems and general ledger platforms
- Familiarity with internal control frameworks
- Ambitious and seeking long-term growth within a banking organization
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proactive identifies issues and proposes solutions

Responsibilities
