Staff Accountant - Full-Time, On-Site
About The Position

Alila Napa Valley blends contemporary luxury with warm hospitality, and we are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team and contribute to our success. The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Director of Finance and plays a key role in supporting all hotel accounting functions, including accounts payable, general cashiering, income audit, and financial reporting.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of accounting experience, hotel preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, and cashiering processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word); experience with financial ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform accounts payable functions, including processing invoices and reconciling vendor statements.
- Manage general cashier duties: issue, audit, and maintain hotel banks, prepare bank deposits, due backs, and petty cash, and resolve cash discrepancies.
- Ensure house banks are properly documented, approved, and maintained.
- Support income audit, payroll functions, and assist with inventory spot checks.
- Contribute to monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytical reviews of significant account balances.
- Assist in preparation of period-end closing procedures and reports.
- Prepare quarterly external reporting schedules and support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance through documentation and control testing.
- Handle inquiries from guests, clients, vendors, and external auditors.
- Collaborate on special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
