About The Position

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of accounting activities including month-end close, data analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliations. This role will also assist in the preparation of management reports, financial statements, supporting schedules, tax filings, annual audits and perform ad-hoc tasks.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related
  • 4 years work experience in accounting
  • Worked in a public company or have experience in IPO
  • Proficiency in NetSuite or other large ERP system
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Review general ledger transactions and activities to ensure assets, liabilities, and expenditures are coded correctly
  • Prepare monthly journal entries to include cash, fixed assets, prepaid/accruals, payroll, lease accounting (ASC 842), and others
  • Ensure timely capitalization of fixed assets and maintain fixed assets schedules and tagging. Experience with FAM in NetSuite is a plus
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and provide detailed analysis of all discrepancies
  • Work with subsidiary to perform monthly consolidation as a part of the close
  • Ensure accurate, complete and timely month-end close
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly flux analysis
  • Respond to and resolve accounting and financial questions
  • Assist in preparation and timely filing of property, franchise tax and sales and use tax returns
  • Support Accounts Payable and Procurement including reconciliation of corporate credit cards and purchasing process as needed
  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing internal controls, policies, and procedures and the related documentation and record-keeping compliance and ensure compliance with all internal processes
  • Proactively identify issues and provide Accounting Manager support in implementing process improvements to streamline accounting processes
  • Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for tax filings and annual audits
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks and projects needed
