Job Title: Staff Accountant Company: Goodwin Knight, LLC Department: Accounting & Finance Reports to: Goodwin Knight Corporate Controller Job Type: Regular Full-Time Work Hours: M-TH 8-5, Friday 8-12 Effective Date: February 2026 Exemption Status: Nonexempt Salary Range: $ 60,000 - $75,000/year (DOE) Profit Sharing: Company Profit Sharing is available and varies based on business results. As a member of the accounting team, assists in daily, monthly, and annual activities, audits, resolving discrepancies, reporting, and ad hoc duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations
  • Competency in accounting and business management software
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
  • Experience and/or desire to participate in reviewing tax returns (Partnerships – Form 1065)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with internal departments to gather and analyze relevant financial data
  • Enters financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries into the ledger
  • Performs account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct
  • Complies with internal accounting procedures
  • Maintains accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices
  • Supports the loan draw processes and Accounts Payable processes as needed
  • Gathers supporting documentation and performs recordkeeping
  • Assists with preparation for annual audits
  • Performs administrative and other tasks as needed
  • Assists with special projects as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management
