About The Position

Turfway Park Racing & Gaming is a gaming and entertainment facility located in Florence, Kentucky, featuring over 800 popular, thrilling, state-of-the-art Vegas-style games, sports wagering, restaurant and simulcast room. JOB SUMMARYESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInclude, but are not limited to: Prepare routine journal entries and assist with month‑end close activities, including accruals, adjustments, and departmental coordination. Prepare and analyze financial statements and supplemental reporting packages. Support monthly financial reviews for each department by researching and summarizing variances from budget, forecast, and prior year results. Assist in the development, maintenance, and distribution of KPI reports, dashboards, and performance metrics used by business leaders to track operational and financial performance. Compile and analyze financial and operational data to help identify trends, risks, and opportunities across business units. Collaborate with departmental leaders to understand business drivers, gather insights, and translate data findings into clear, actionable summaries. Assist with capital project tracking, inventory processes, Accounts Payable support, and audit documentation. Maintain accurate and organized financial records, schedules, and supporting documents. Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations with a focus on accuracy and completeness. Support inventory counts, purchasing systems, and related operational needs. Demonstrate strong computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new financial systems or reporting tools. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and CDI corporate finance. Help improve and streamline reporting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of financial information. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
  • Office procedures, database tools, and Microsoft Office Suite  - including Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Financial systems, reporting tools, and spreadsheet modeling.
  • Sound judgment, analytical reasoning, and professional communication.
  • 10-key calculator functions.
  • Fundamentals of KPI development, dashboard reporting, and performance measurement.
  • Perform mathematical, analytical, and basic statistical calculations.
  • Interpret financial data, identify variances, and communicate findings in a clear and concise way.
  • Support business leaders by summarizing reports and highlighting key performance drivers.
  • Work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solve routine and moderately complex accounting issues.
  • Be flexible with varying schedules or deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with professionalism.
  • Create and maintain organized, detailed records and workpapers.
  • Quickly adapt to new software, reporting tools, and process changes.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to function in a fast-paced, team‑oriented environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Must be able to obtain a Kentucky Racing (KHRC) License.

Nice To Haves

  • The gaming industry, including capital and operational budgeting (preferred).
  • Experience with dashboards, reporting tools, or data visualization is a plus.
