Staff Accountant
About The Position
Windsor Fashion is currently looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to support the Windsor accounting and finance team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be a valuable team member responsible for executing the day-to-day accounting operations and period-end close functions. Your duties will include preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting the preparation of financial statements. This role is a foundation for growth, where you will learn and apply technical accounting concepts related to areas like cash, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and general ledger maintenance, while ensuring the accuracy of financial information and maintaining the integrity of accounting processes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in accounting preferably in the retail industry
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts
- Experience with mid-size ERP systems preferred, ideally NetSuite
- Proficient with Google Apps (Gmail, Docs, Sheets)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Must be able to work onsite at our Santa Fe Springs office
Nice To Haves
- CPA preferred or actively pursuing
- Fixed asset and/or cash reconciliation experience desirable
Responsibilities
- Perform key month-end closing activities, including preparing and posting journal entries and completing assigned account reconciliations
- Reconcile and maintain various balance sheet accounts such as cash, prepaids and fixed assets and certain liabilities.
- Prepare routine schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external financial reporting purposes
- Fixed Assets: Assist in maintaining the fixed asset ledger, calculating monthly depreciation
- Cash: Reconcile and match daily bank activities
- Support the annual audit process, including gathering documentation, responding to routine inquiries from external auditors, and providing general audit support
- Rent: Responsible for initiating and supporting rent and rent related payments for certain stores
- Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned
