Under the direction of the Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger through proper journal entries, account reconciliations, reserve analysis and support and research into variances and anomalies. Working with the Controller and the rest of the finance team and management leaders to ensure compliance with laws and regulations and especially with regard to tax and accounting policies and rules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Equivalent business experience is considered, but a bachelor's degree is required.
  • 3-5+ years of experience.
  • Experience in an environment that prepares and handles compliance, tax, audit, and monthly result reviews.
  • Experience collaborating with management teams and other departments.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CMA or CPA is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Cash. Provide weekly/daily cash updates. Manage bank reconciliations.
  • Create and Analyze Weekly/Monthly Reports. Timely distribution of assigned weekly and monthly reports to various personnel. Manage expense reporting through Concur software.
  • Play a significant role in the month end close process including accurate and efficient completion of required journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations. Provide assistance in maintaining proper balance sheet reserve levels. Prepare and enter weekly payroll entries, and maintain the journal entry log as appropriate.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting process, including working with various department heads to prepare SG&A Departmental and cost center reviews, research and follow ups on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with the annual audit and tax process, including preparing audit work papers and working with department heads for tax information.
  • Complete Government Surveys & Reporting. Prepare, report and schedule payment of monthly sales and use taxes. Prepare and submit government surveys and audit information as needed.
  • Maintain and oversee company credit card program.
