This is a PT position - 20-30 hours/week The Staff Accountant / Senior Accountant is a key member of Greenlight Capital Partners (Heirloom Restaurant Group) Finance team and will report to the CFO. This role is perfect for a seasoned accountant who wants to do meaningful work in a dynamic, multi-entity organization. You’ll have the freedom to own your accounts, elevate processes, collaborate with leadership, and play a key role in improving the company’s financial accuracy and performance. A successful candidate must be able to show proven success in accounting, being able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment and show great attention to detail. People who find success are self-starters who can adapt well to changing responsibility and workloads while maintaining positive relationships with executives and team members.

  • Prepare timely and accurate month-end journal entries, including accruals, amortizations, deferrals, and reclasses.
  • Complete full-account reconciliations (bank, credit cards, AP/AR subledgers, loans, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, inventory, etc.).
  • Maintain clean, organized supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and completeness prior to CFO sign-off.
  • Review and code invoices for correct GL classification.
  • Assist with vendor setup, W-9 collection, and 1099 tracking.
  • Support AR billing and payment application as assigned.
  • Partner with operations to resolve discrepancies, clarify coding, and ensure timely submission of documents.
  • Communicate monthly results, variances, and findings clearly and professionally.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies in existing workflows and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP standards.
  • Support system migrations, ERP enhancements, and automation projects.
  • Assist with year-end audit requests and PBC preparation.
  • Support tax-related documentation and annual filings (1099s, sales tax, property tax, etc.).
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies/procedures and systems
  • Provide support on other finance and accounting projects as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
  • High proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables).
  • Experience reconciling complex bank accounts and multi-entity structures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience in multi-unit retail, restaurants, hospitality, or real estate.
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as R365, NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage, or similar.
  • Experience with data automation tools (CSV imports, macros, AI-assisted workflows).
