The Staff Accountant will deliver exceptional service to all stakeholders including franchisees, pet partners (vendors), team members and other internal stakeholders using established accounting principles and procedures. Regular interaction with leadership within the accounting and finance team should be expected. You will report directly to the Director of Accounting and Operational Excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 1-3 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate skills in Excel including SUMIF, XLOOKUP and pivot tables; Experience with macros is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident in proactive verbal and written communication at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as a keen attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to excellent customer service
  • Ability to build relationships cross-functionally to drive attainment of goals and objectives

Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare, post and send journals for accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
  • Update and maintain various spreadsheets in accordance with applicable calendars
  • Partner with team members to determine which entity should be affected for each transaction
  • Ensure that proper approvals are obtained consistent with Company policy
  • Monitor accounts receivable email inbox and ServiceDesk Plus tickets; Research and resolve as needed
  • Enter and initiate weekly withdrawals from franchisees
  • Prepare communications to franchisees and pet partners as needed
  • Deliver exceptional service to all stakeholders including franchisees, pet partners, team members and other stakeholders
  • Adhere to month-end and year-end close calendars
  • Assist with audit requests as needed
  • Identify and support continuous process improvements and system optimization
  • Assist leadership with ad hoc projects and requests
