About The Position

The Staff Accountant at Mansfield is an individual contributor role focused on managing various accounting responsibilities within the natural gas division. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• One or more years of experience in financial accounting.
• Thorough knowledge of General Ledger (G/L), Accounts Payable (A/P), and Accounts Receivable (A/R).
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.

• Petroleum experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the energy accounting processes, policies, procedures, and internal controls for the natural gas division.
• Calculate gross margins, revenues, and costs related to energy accounting.
• Manage monthly counterparty settlements and actualization of natural gas volumes.
• Generate and coordinate journal entries and reconciliations for month-end accounting processes.
• Create and analyze balance sheet and profit and loss statements, comparing monthly and seasonal fluctuations to budgets and estimates.
• Support additional reporting and processes under the Controller, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Reconcile all designated balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and resolve any reconciling items.
• Process journal entries for month-end close, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Drive process improvement and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines during the month-end close process.
