About The Position

The Staff Accountant at Grimmway Enterprises, Inc. plays a crucial role in preparing various financial documents and reports, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position collaborates closely with the leadership team to capture and analyze financial data, contributing to the company's understanding of its performance against goals and objectives. The role is essential in maintaining accurate general ledgers and supporting the financial health of one of the largest carrot and organic vegetable growers in the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Two to three years of accounting experience.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Prior experience as a senior staff accountant in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of data entry, accounts payable/receivable, bookkeeping, and accounting procedures.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and various general ledger/budgeting software packages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean DMV driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screening, physical and functional capacity evaluation, and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports and statements.
  • Update budgets and forecast financial data.
  • Manage fixed assets and income tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP in all financial documentation.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to capture necessary financial data accurately and timely.
