About The Position

Yamazen Inc. is a leading Japanese trading company specializing in industrial machinery, tools, and equipment distribution across North America. We connect advanced technologies from Japan to U.S. manufacturers, helping them improve productivity and innovation. We are seeking a bilingual Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Department. This role supports daily accounting operations, cash flow management, and financial reporting accuracy. The position involves collaboration with our Japan headquarters, U.S. branches, vendors, and customers in both Japanese and English.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Japanese (reading, writing and speaking) is required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in A/R and A/P.
• Fluent in Japanese and English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong accuracy, organization, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• CPA certification or currently pursuing it.
• Experience in a Japanese corporate environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile A/R and A/P transactions accurately and timely.
• Prepare customer invoices, vendor payments, and related documentation.
• Monitor receivables, support collections, and resolve billing or invoice issues.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
• Prepare supporting schedules and reports for management and audits.
• Coordinate with Japan HQ and internal teams on intercompany transactions.
• Maintain organized accounting records and support process improvement efforts.
