Responsibilities

  • Assists in maintaining financial records and performs accounting functions ensuring that required information is accurate, complete and in accordance with established policies and procedures:
  • Prepares assigned journal entries.
  • Prepares assigned account analysis and recommends action for reconciling items.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Provides research and administrative support to special projects, preparing data, reports, and follows-up on projects.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
  • Prepares and maintains required reports, records and files for administrative and compliance purposes.
  • Utilizes computer to enter and format data, generate statistics, computations, tables, or charts.
  • Confers and works collaboratively with hospital staff and auditors in a customer responsive and courteous manner, in compliance with Brand Promise standards and promoting patient/customer satisfaction.
  • Corresponds with banks, tax authorities, outside auditors, and others as needed regarding financial information/data.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
  • Responds to problems/opportunities to improve work environment and participates in unit based performance improvement activities.
  • Maintains established department's policies, procedures, compliance/ quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control program.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
