About The Position

The Staff Accountant I plays a foundational role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records. This entry-level accounting position supports the staff accounting group with day-to-day accounting tasks, helping ensure accuracy across general ledger accounts, bank transactions, and financial reporting for multiple companies within the TSS Family of Companies.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or another related field.
1-2 years of relevant accounting experience, required.
A combination of education, experience and training may meet requirements
Foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
High attention to detail with a willingness to learn and grow within a structured accounting environment.
Team-oriented with a natural curiosity to understand all areas of the business.
Eagerness to take ownership of assigned tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Demonstrated self-starter who is comfortable working independently

Responsibilities

Maintain reports, records, and general ledger accounts for multiple companies under the guidance of senior team members.
Prepare routine journal entries in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
Assist with standard balance sheet account reconciliations.
Support the reconciliation of bank transactions and resolve basic discrepancies.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Support the review of financial statements for accuracy in revenue and expense recognition.
Learn and adhere to company capital policy and financial reporting standards.
Other duties as assigned.
