The Staff Accountant is a pivotal position on the Tivity Health Accounting team. Utilizing hands-on accounting experience with an understanding of accounting principles and best company practices, you will work alongside high-integrity colleagues in a fast-paced private equity environment. This full-time position will be responsible for assisting in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, performing analysis and reconciliations, and contributing to the overall maintenance of the control environment.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred.
  • 2 years related work experience preferred.
  • Understanding of GAAP and general accounting.
  • Experience with indirect tax and Treasury functions a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and other colleagues, demonstrating initiative and mature judgment.
  • Self-starting, proactive individual who can work independently as well as cohesively with others.
  • Proven ability to timely and accurately meet daily, monthly, and quarterly deliverables.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and analytical skills.
  • Ability to remain highly organized in a deadline driven environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and visualization software a plus.
  • Experience using Oracle Enterprise Application, Spreadsheet Server and/or Blackline a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings of general ledger in accordance with GAAP ensuring deadlines are achieved.
  • Prepare assigned journal entries associated with the monthly close process.
  • Maintain schedules and appropriate tracking for expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity accounts.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts including prepaid expenses, accruals, and reserves.
  • Own the fixed assets process which includes managing, tracking, and ensuring proper accounting for both the Project and Fixed Asset Module.
  • Work with Treasury on payment processing and cash coding.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on other needs.
  • Support the team to maintain an efficient and appropriate control environment.
  • Assist with the gathering of audit documentation for annual audits.
  • Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide support for technology changes and implementations related to accounting functions.
  • Assist with special projects and requests as needed.
