About The Position

The Staff Accountant – Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) supports the Finance Department through a combination of financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and operational responsibilities. This role works closely with the Senior Accountant – Budgets & Reports to perform account research, prepare financial reports, assist with budget development, and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. In addition, this position plays a key role in supporting finance-related operations, including corporate card management, property management accounting oversight, expense reporting systems, and audit support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of accounting or finance experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Primarily office-based or hybrid work environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Occasional meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, or FP&A functions is a plus.
  • Experience in nonprofit or property management accounting is desirable.
  • Experience with expense reporting and accounting software (e.g., Concur or similar) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with account research, reconciliation, and variance analysis.
  • Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Participate in the development, tracking, and monitoring of organizational budgets.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Treasury Management Support- daily cash positioning, forecasting, and operational support.
  • Develops financial models, analyzes trends, and creates forecasts for revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Perform general ledger reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile financial data between sub-systems and the general ledger.
  • Assist in maintaining strong internal controls and documentation standards.
  • Manage corporate credit/debit card program, including: Card applications and terminations Transaction monitoring and employee support Assistance with dispute resolution
  • Support expense reporting system administration, including: Employee setup and deactivation User support and training Review of submitted expenses for completeness and compliance
  • Perform reviews of property management records and systems for compliance with program requirements and lease agreements.
  • Ensure consistency between lease agreements, property management systems, and the general ledger.
  • Reconcile property management reports to accounting records.
  • Prepare related journal entries and financial reports.
  • Participate in meetings and communications with property management teams.
  • Provide support for financial and program audits.
  • Prepare schedules, documentation, and responses for audit requests.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
