About The Position

The Staff Accountant at Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor will support the Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance in all accounting processes at the hotel. This role involves preparing and reviewing journal vouchers, month-end reports, and reconciliations, as well as assisting with various accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management and timely reporting.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Hospitality preferred.
• 1-2 years hotel accounting experience preferred.
• Prior experience with Oracle, Birchstreet, and Opera preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High energy, motivated leader with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Extremely detailed and accurate with time management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in hotel accounting systems and software.
• Ability to effectively communicate with departmental managers and guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review all journal vouchers, month-end reports, and reconciliations.
• Participate in monthly financial reviews and assist with the presentation of these reports.
• Assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Cashier tasks.
• Oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management and accurate reporting.
• Perform systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, inventories, and monthly closing responsibilities.
• Assist Management with the year-end audit process and respond to auditor requests.
• Prepare all monthly and annual financial statements and analyze variance explanations.
• Manage troubleshooting for cost controls and revenue enhancement.
• Assist with special reporting and analysis projects.
• Maintain contracts for the hotel and update Certificates of Insurance for vendors.
