About The Position

The Staff Accountant position within the Record to Report division of L'Oréal's Corporate Finance team is responsible for providing internal controls support across all North America business units. This role involves general accounting duties, managing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting the monthly close process. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting required.
  • 2+ years of related work experience in an accounting team environment required.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Thorough problem-solving and well-developed analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills required).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Very strong variance analysis research experience.
  • Resourceful and resilient, capable of managing complex journal entries through resolution.
  • Strong understanding of financial and operational controls.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP or similar ERP experience.
  • Consumer products background.
  • CPA Certification.
  • Auditing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide internal controls support to L'Oreal North America business units.
  • Manage journal entries and perform general accounting duties.
  • Conduct GRIR Aging/Remediation and A/R Reconciliation.
  • Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and roll forwards for month-end close.
  • Assist in the month-end closing process for assigned plants.
  • Prepare and issue various month-end analyses and reports.
  • Interact daily with manufacturing stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and compliance issues.
  • Support internal audit requests and participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Handle YFAP accrual process and clear aged GRIR.
  • Perform monthly required Key Control and apply payments to clear Accounts Receivable.
