Department Overview The Stack Engineering team develops core SOFC and SOEC technologies, focusing on material selection, component design, and fuel cell architecture to deliver high-performance, cost-effective, and reliable energy systems. We work closely with cross-functional teams and lead key qualification efforts to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Develop SOFC materials related to powder metallurgy and/or hermetic glass sealing.
  • Perform material and part characterization.
  • Analyze and summarize results to clearly communicate status of project milestones.
  • Work within the Bloom system for creating work orders and material requests.
  • Support engineering efforts to reach manufacturing volume and quality targets.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's (4th year) or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science
  • Must be graduating between spring 2026 and summer 2027
  • Hands-on hardware and/or lab experience skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Statistical analysis skills are a plus (JMP, Excel)
  • Computer Programming language skills are a plus (Excel VBA, Python)
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
  • Capable to organize complex datasets with a high attention to detail
  • Strong self-starter and team player with a can-do attitude
