About The Position

STABILIZATION CLINICIAN YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES FULL TIME – EXEMPT Thrive Behavioral Health, the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic for Kent County, has been delivering mental health and substance use services since 1976. General Summary: Provides urgent in-person crisis response and stabilization services to individuals and families experiencing a Mental Health Crisis. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in mental health counseling, clinical psychology, social work or another related field required.
  • Clinical License Required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the human services field working with adults, children, adolescents, and families.
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards , or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Crisis intervention experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of community resources and systems of care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person response to clients/family who are experiencing a Mental Health Crisis.
  • Complete Mental Health Status evaluations and crisis intervention.
  • Collaborates with client/family on the development a Person-Centered Safety and Support Plan in collaboration with the client and family.
  • Provides skills training and coaching for the client and family.
  • Provide short-term in-home and community-based crisis stabilization to clients and families over a 30-day timeframe.
  • Collaborate with Thrive’s Mobil Crisis Team to immediately begin stabilization to prevent hospitalization.
  • Collaborate with staff in the Youth & Family unit to provide additional supports to families to prevent hospitalization.
  • Complete all relevant documentation as required by Thrive.
  • Attend weekly Youth & Family team meetings.
  • Attend weekly Crisis Behavioral Health Team meetings.
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule including weekends and evenings. An on-call stipend will be provided. In-person response may be required for on-call.
  • Ability to complete and obtain a Qualified Mental Health Professional certification required (Provided by Thrive)
  • Complete and obtain Safety Care Certification (provided by Thrive)
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
