About The Position

FamilyAid is a leading provider of solutions to family homelessness. Our mission is to empower parents and caregivers facing homelessness to secure and sustain housing and build solid foundations for their children's futures. We prevent family homelessness whenever possible, reduce harm if homelessness can't be avoided by housing families as quickly as possible, mitigate trauma, especially for children, and provide wraparound supports that foster long-term stability. We provide children and parents with a path to self-sufficiency via two-generation educational programs, housing search and placement support, and connections to vital resources they need to return to their own homes. Our strategic vision and bold strategies to reduce two-generation homelessness successfully served 5,000 children and parents in Greater Boston last year. Our supportive, collaborative, diverse workplace of more than 130 professionals is ideal for skilled, result-oriented professionals who are driven to help children and families thrive. FamilyAid has been recognized as a Massachusetts Top Workplace by The Boston Globe and by Charity Navigator as one of the nation's top organizations working to end homelessness. Position Summary FamilyAid’s Stabilization Program provides up to two years of post-shelter case management support to families who have exited shelter and are enrolled in the HomeBASE program. Stabilization is a critical bridge between temporary shelter and long-term housing stability, helping families navigate the challenges of sustaining a tenancy, maintaining financial stability, and staying connected to the community resources they need to thrive. This work is guided by EOHLC’s EA Family Shelter Program Scope of Service and FamilyAid’s two-generation (2Gen), trauma-informed model of care. The Stabilization Case Manager Support Intern will work as an embedded member of one of FamilyAid’s Community Based Shelter (CBS) teams: Congregate Brookline, Congregate West Newton, or Scattered Site. The intern will provide direct support to families enrolled in the Stabilization Program. Interns will not carry a formal caseload but will actively support Case Managers across the team’s stabilization clients. Supervision Structure Day-to-day supervision will be provided collaboratively by the Case Management team at the intern’s assigned site, with supervisory responsibility shared across CMs depending on staffing and scheduling. Clinical co-supervision (one hour per week, as required for MSW students and recommended for all others) will be provided by the Director of Clinical Training or a designated clinical supervisor. This structure reflects FamilyAid’s commitment to providing interns with both practical, hands-on guidance from frontline staff and clinical oversight grounded in best practice.
