About The Position

As the Front Desk Manager at the historic St. James Hotel, you'll be the face of guest engagement and play a key role in creating memorable experiences for every guest. This leadership position oversees the Front Desk team and ensures seamless operations, exceptional service, and a welcoming environment that reflects our tradition of hospitality.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of progressive Front Office or Rooms Division experience, including at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and hold team members accountable.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Property Management Systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field.
  • Experience in boutique or historic hotels.
  • Knowledge of hotel revenue strategies and occupancy management.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
  • Familiarity with Red Wing and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily Front Desk operations, including check-in/check-out, reservations, and concierge services.
  • Anticipate guest needs, resolve concerns quickly and professionally, and create personalized service moments that build loyalty.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of guest service associates.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Reservations to maximize occupancy, implement upsell programs, and support revenue goals.
  • Ensure adherence to hotel policies, brand standards, and service protocols.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as needed, supporting overall hotel leadership.
  • Analyze guest feedback and operational data to identify service improvements and innovations.
