The next generation fast attack submarine (SSNX) engineering team is in need of Systems Engineers. The SSNX Team has openings for highly motivated engineers to support the development of a new electric plant design for the next class of submarines. The group is in the process of developing a new cost-effective, power dense, electric plant architecture that utilizes the latest technologies.

  • Propulsion plant and electric plant systems and component evaluations.
  • Evaluation and development of requirements to develop propulsion, electric, steam and reactor plant systems.
  • Function as a project engineer overseeing all aspects of engineering tasks including overall technical quality.
  • Work in a team environment; maintain schedules, interfacing with design and other engineering organization and disciplines.
  • Interact with other engineering disciplines and the design and operations communities.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Adapt to emergent tasks and drive them to completion.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required.
  • 0-3 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with MS Office products: Word, Excel, Project, OneNote, PowerPoint.
  • Masters in Engineering.
  • Experience with MATLAB tools is desired.
  • Previous experience in development of electric, steam and propulsion plant systems and components is desirable.
  • Defining and meeting functional and detail requirements.
  • Selecting standard components and subcomponents.
  • Supporting development and understanding of associated technical documentation, including operating instructions, specifications, and installation procedures.
