About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking individuals to provide housekeeping services in the Hospital and Medical Center facilities. This role involves both light and heavy cleaning duties, utilizing commercial-type equipment such as vacuums, scrubbing machines, strippers, waxers, and buffers. The position requires candidates to be available for rotating shifts, including every other weekend and holiday.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach continuously.
• Ability to handle heavy and medium-weight material, equipment, and supplies.
• Exposure to refuse, dirt, dust, detergents, body wastes, and odors indoors and outdoors.
• Occasional exposure to the possibility of contacts with infection and infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

• Provides housekeeping services, including light and heavy cleaning, in the Hospital and Medical Center facilities.
• May use commercial-type equipment including vacuums, scrubbing machines, strippers, waxers, and buffers.
• Requires the ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.
• Stands, walks, bends, and reaches continuously.
• Handles heavy and medium-weight material, equipment, and supplies.
• Is normally exposed to refuse, dirt, dust, detergents, body wastes, and odors indoors and outdoors.
