About The Position

The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pediatrics Float Pool at various sites in San Diego, CA. The role involves assisting patients, staff, and physicians to maintain operational efficiency and provide quality care to the designated patient population. The RN will also assist with the leadership of the Nursing and Patient Service Representative staff and serve as a technical nursing expert for assigned areas.

Requirements

• California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing - REQUIRED
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• RN experience in related clinical area.
• Leadership experience.
• ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association - PREFERRED

Responsibilities

• Assists patients, staff, and physicians to maintain a high level of efficiency of operations and customer service.
• Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill and technical expertise in assigned area and within scope of practice.
• Uses well-developed assessment skills to deliver all nursing care.
• Acts as a clinical resource for assigned area.
• Prepares patients for examination or procedure and obtains complete and accurate consent.
• Partners with physicians to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base.
• Ensures prompt and efficient return of telephone messages according to established policy.
• Monitors patient flow and physician schedules to ensure quality and meet service standards.
• Assists with training and education of new and existing staff.
• Maintains current knowledge of applicable medications and demonstrates safe administration techniques.
