About The Position

SRP - Desert Basin Generating Station is hiring for an SRP Scholar - Desert Basin Engineering Intern, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. This internship provides 'on-the-job' experience to develop skills and provide exposure to Power Generation, specifically for a combined cycle gas generating station. The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department's needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 29.5 hours per week maximum.

Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering Major.
• College-level coursework (200+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.
• Students in their Junior or Senior year.

Responsibilities

• Assist the engineering team to ensure operational reliability.
• Support the design and implementation of plant modifications and upgrades.
• Conduct performance analysis and efficiency improvements for plant operations.
• Participate in the development of maintenance strategies and procedures.
• Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Analyze equipment performance data and assist with root cause investigations for failures.
• Research manufacturer drawings, manuals, and technical documents to support maintenance activities.
• Assist with safety and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Conduct special studies and technical evaluations as assigned.
