About The Position

The Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) Integration Engineer will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to the SLS Booster Office for the production and delivery of SRM hardware and associated booster elements. This role involves providing subsystem leadership and project engineering support to integrate technical solutions, resolve issues, participate in cross-functional task teams, and ensure alignment between NASA and contractor teams. Key activities include facilitating integrated discussions, participating in design and document reviews, and providing status updates on issues and deliverables.

Requirements

Degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
Educational requirements are typically the equivalent of a Ph.D. with a minimum of 14 years of experience, a Master’s degree with at least 18 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with at least 25 years of experience.
Experience in design, development, testing, or evaluation of solid rocket motor systems, booster structures, or related propulsion hardware.
Ability to effectively communicate significant programmatic and technical issues and potential resolution options to appropriate Booster office personnel is required.
Familiarity with the current SLS Program and working understanding of SLS Booster and SRM interfaces.
Experience with vehicle and ground operations related to booster integration or propulsion systems.
Experience developing and delivering executive‑level briefings; strong negotiation and technical problem‑solving skills; ability to decompose complex issues.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Self‑motivated and effective team player; comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate between NASA, the Booster Office, and prime contractor teams to achieve SRM subsystem objectives.
Provide SME level insight and oversight into contractor SRM system analyses, integration activities, issues and resolution.
Develop and maintain the technical requirements for the SRM subsystem, including coordination with the Booster Element Office and contractor requirements development teams.
Coordinate and communicate with other Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) and Kennedy Space Center (KSC) organizations as needed.
Coordinate planning and execution of requirement verification activities leading to flight‑certified SRM hardware.
Support the development and delivery of Booster Office Certificate of Flight Readiness products for SRM elements.
