This role is open to San Francisco, Mountain View or New York City. We are seeking a Sr. Engineering Program Manager to join our Real Estate & Strategy team within Global Workplace Services. This role reports to the Director of Sustainability & Engineering and will play a critical role in defining strategy and owning end-to-end delivery of building systems performance, operational efficiency, and sustainability initiatives across LinkedIn's global portfolio. This role requires approximately 25% travel to support portfolio-wide initiatives and regional teams. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in building systems with strong program management capabilities. You will work cross-functionally with Real Estate, Design & Build, Operations, Workplace Technology, Data, and other program teams to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of engineering initiatives that enhance workplace experience, improve operational performance, and advance sustainability goals. This role requires someone who can navigate complex stakeholder relationships, drive data-driven decisions, influence senior leadership, and translate technical concepts into business value. Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in building systems engineering, facilities management, or related technical program management roles.
  • 5+ years of experience managing programs or projects in commercial real estate or corporate workplace environments.
  • Experience with global or multi-regional portfolio management.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing engineering standards for large, multi-site real estate portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of commercial building MEP systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire/life safety, and building automation systems.
  • Experience with sustainability programs, energy management, and environmental certifications (LEED, WELL, ENERGY STAR).
  • Financial management experience, specifically budget planning, capital investment analysis, and business case development.
  • Experience leading partnerships with outsourced service providers and vendors to deliver effective solutions.
  • Proficiency with building management systems, CMMS/IWMS platforms, and data analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated success influencing at all levels of the organization, and the ability to earn the trust of colleagues and senior leadership.
  • Relevant certifications including but not limited to PE, PMP, CEM, LEED AP, or CFM.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with change management in evolving workplace environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute global engineering programs for MEP systems optimization across design, construction, operations, and maintenance.
  • Create and maintain technical standards and playbooks for building systems design and operations.
  • Partner with regional teams to implement engineering programs and ensure consistent application of standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, industry benchmarking, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that support LinkedIn's sustainability commitments, including energy efficiency and carbon reduction programs.
  • Establish performance metrics and KPIs, creating dashboards and reports that provide visibility to leadership and drive accountability.
  • Manage vendor relationships including contract oversight and performance management.
  • Lead cross-functional innovation initiatives, piloting new technologies including AI and predictive systems and scaling successful solutions across the portfolio.
  • Support capital planning through technical assessments, lifecycle analysis, and business cases.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices that affect building performance and workplace effectiveness.
  • Partner with business units to align engineering programs with corporate priorities, presenting scalable frameworks and measurable outcomes to senior leadership.
