Davies Claims North America is seeking an experienced Senior Workers Comp Claim Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, and resolve workers’ compensation claims. This role requires a proactive professional who can manage complex claims, including catastrophic losses and litigation, while delivering exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of relevant experience and a strong understanding of claims investigation, legal and medical terminology, and multi-state workers’ compensation regulations. This position is located onsite in Atlanta, GA.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of oral and written policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to perform multiple duties with accuracy, speed, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Skilled in multi-party claim investigations.
  • Proficient in standard or customized claims software applications.
  • Ability to prepare and present factual, accurate reports with clear recommendations.
  • Thorough knowledge of claims investigation principles and practices.
  • Extensive medical and legal terminology knowledge and litigation management experience.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new information and technology.
  • Knowledge of multi-state workers’ compensation laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Work onsite to determine coverage and compensability for each filed claim.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including interviewing employees, employers, and witnesses.
  • Obtain and review necessary records, including hospital, physician, and police reports.
  • Ensure accurate EDI and CMS/Section 111 reporting.
  • Utilize and coordinate with preferred vendors as appropriate.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports to clients and excess carriers regarding claims status and recommendations.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and their attorneys to achieve appropriate resolutions.
  • Maintain control of litigation activities and costs in accordance with account requirements.
  • Mentor, train, and share expertise with other Davies staff as needed.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions to stay current on best practices and industry developments.
  • Maintain required professional licensing.
  • Respond to client inquiries courteously and in a timely manner.
  • Manage catastrophic losses, complex litigation, and sensitive claims.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
