Develop, design, code, and implement next-generation deployment automation using system/software engineering best practices and the latest technologies: DevOps (Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker) Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code (UrbanCode Deploy, Ansible, Scripting) Administer IBM WebSphere Application Server including installing, migrating, upgrading, deploying, troubleshooting, and configurating on Linux. Provide engineering contributions in one or more of these areas: software deployment, application monitoring and performance tuning, Microservice architecture, container orchestration, security, or auto-scaling & application reliability engineering. Work closely and collaboratively with a small tightly knit high performing team of Leidos engineers and customer technical leads Investigate and repair application defects with development team regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, CI/CD pipeline, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling). Triage Java exceptions and tune JVM/application server Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written and oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience All other duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or a related field. Master’s or doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
  • 8 years of combined experience with software development including deployment, automation, systems/application analysis and design
  • 3+ years of combined experience with Application Server Administration (WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Liberty)
  • 2+ years of combined experience with UrbanCode Deploy
  • 1+ year of experience with Ansible automation
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
  • Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server or Liberty administration in Linux.
  • Solid experience automating application deployments for WebSphere using IBM UrbanCode Deploy.
  • Strong experience in automating tasks scripting languages like Shell, Python.
  • Experience developing build scripts using Apache Ant and Apache Maven.
  • Basic experience with configuration management and provisioning tools (Ansible automation, CloudFormation / Terraform)
  • Basic knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration
  • Solid experience with version control software such as Git/Bitbucket.
  • Basic knowledge with Java EE, Java generics, and concurrent programming
  • Excellent communication and written skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of IBM Content Manager administration
  • AWS cloud certifications
  • Experience with configuring and using Splunk or other log aggregator.
  • Solid experience with PaaS using Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes and Docker containers
  • Solid experience with Spring Framework (Boot, Batch, Cloud, Security, and Data)
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, DB2), and SQL
  • Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies.
  • Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology.
  • Experience with DevOps and toolset (Git/Bitbucket, Docker, Jenkins, SonarQube)

Responsibilities
