Requirements

  • BS or MS in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering discipline preferred with a focus on water/wastewater
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado is required
  • 15 plus years of experience with water and wastewater treatment projects required
  • Design experience with pipe materials, valves and pumps preferred
  • Hydraulic system calculations, pump stations, pressure pipelines, storm and sanitary sewer pipelines, and water/wastewater treatment plants preferred
  • Previous experience in business development is preferred
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Active membership and participation in water/wastewater professional associations such as RMWEA or RMSAWWA preferred
  • Experience with jurisdictional and regulatory permitting is required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Senior Engineer on a wide variety of municipal wastewater projects
  • Review conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses
  • Review detailed engineering reports and supporting documents
  • Review construction drawings, specifications and cost estimates
  • Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
  • Develop and review engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings, recommend and document design modifications
  • Resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective, and compliant manner
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to staff engineers
  • Provide construction support services (field meetings, submittal review, shop drawing review, RFIs)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
