Under limited guidance and direction, this position provides routine and emergent maintenance and repair support for water chemistry equipment at power plant sites across the North region of the FPL fleet. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and capable of effectively prioritizing and scheduling their workload, and coordinating plans, issues, and needs with Site and Fleet personnel. Experience with operation and maintenance of water chemistry equipment of various types and manufacturers is preferred. Travel is expected to be up to 33% of the time and primarily during the business day, although occasional travel is expected which may require overnight stays. Employees in this position perform a lead role in advanced technical tasks in support of chemistry monitoring and control systems in addition to routine maintenance and repair of instrumentation. As a subject matter expert, leverage knowledge and experience to train personnel, provide technical and commercial support for water chemistry equipment upgrade and improvement projects, and perform complex repairs and installations in the field. This job requires significant collaboration with site, corporate, and vendor personnel to plan and execute jobs, procure materials and consumables to maintain and optimize instrument operations, and identify, troubleshoot, and recommend actions to resolve equipment issues and chemical excursions. Employees in this role possess a strong understanding of plant operations and work planning processes, mechanical systems and hydraulics, water chemistry, instrumentation/electronics, and chemical and industrial safety.
