Requirements

  • All qualified candidates must have experience working on water and sewer construction projects and must have the following certifications: FDOT's Advanced MOT Certification. FDOT's Earthwork Level II Certification. FDOT's Asphalt Level II Certification. FDOT's Final Estimates Level II Certification.
  • All qualified candidates must also obtain within the first 3 months of work the following certifications: FDOT's Concrete Specification Certification. ACI Field Inspector Level I. IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I.
  • High school graduate or equivalent plus four (4) or more years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in water and sewer grid and/or plant construction inspection.
  • Possess the ability to write and speak to report on progress and outcome of technical assignments and to present recommendations.
  • Possess the ability to monitor construction projects to a successful and timely completion.
  • Have general knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws and regulations as they relate to engineering performance requirements.
  • Employees assigned to driving duties ("drivers") must have a current, valid US State driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Keville's driving policy.
  • OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment.
  • Daily on-site presence is required, with occasional evening or weekend work during critical project phases or to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide lead inspection services for conformance to Plans and Specifications for water and sewer infrastructure projects, including lift and pump stations, roadways, stormwater structures, plant construction and roadway restoration.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities of junior level inspectors, observe, measure, and record all quantities for payment requests, document quantities and field measurements on a standard daily inspection form, and review junior inspector's reports for accuracy.
  • Check traffic control elements daily, notify the contractor of deficiencies or problems immediately and coordinate corrective actions, ensure contractor compliance with Davis‐Bacon Act as required, inspect daily erosion control items for conformance to the plans and permit requirements, coordinating necessary corrective work, and assist the Project Administrator with reviewing pay quantities for use in the review of contractor pay requests.
