About The Position

The Sr. Warehouse Lead will assist in coordinating all daily warehouse activities under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor. TAS delivers innovative packaged modular systems engineered and manufactured in Houston, TX facilities, used in data centers, power, and commercial/industrial utility systems. TAS manages logistics and transportation to accelerate construction at customer facilities. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to drive forklift.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Analytical and detail oriented.
  • Strong communication skills to work with warehouse employees, peers, leadership, and cross functional departments.
  • High school diploma
  • 5+ years of related manufacturing experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Computer knowledge including warehouse ERP systems and MS Office software.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
  • Dashboard, Metrics or Power BI experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize work load within the warehouse.
  • Maintain training records for all employees.
  • Identify and address all safety hazards within the work area
  • Train new warehouse employees in material handling and identification.
  • Assist shipping and receiving, unload trucks with forklift or crane, check in merchandise, match purchase orders to sales orders and distribute to sales associates for processing.
  • Accurately stock material physically and electronically into proper warehouse bin locations.
  • Participate in Lean/Kaizen, Black Belt, and other Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Read and accurately transact customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Assist in routine cycle counting of inventory.
  • Weighing and counting items to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Record transactional amounts of materials or items received issued via appropriate ERP & Warehouse Management Systems transaction.
  • Help implement process improvement initiatives and train warehouse personnel as needed.
  • Assist in the creation of work instructions for training purposes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitors and report team KPI’s to upper management, identifying opportunities and process gaps.
  • Sweep, dust and mop and always organize warehouse and work area for orderliness.
  • Identifies warehouse layout changes need, both physically and systematically.
  • Document Purchase Orders or Work Order, Part Numbers, and Projects on all incoming/ outgoing items.
  • Any other duties as assigned by TAS.
