About The Position

In 2015, Amazon launched Amazon Business, a marketplace that combines the selection, convenience, and value customers expect from Amazon with features tailored specifically for businesses. The Business Industrial and Scientific Supplies (BISS) team is seeking a self-driven Senior Vendor Manager with a proven track record in the B2B industry. This role is critical for managing strategic suppliers to enhance profitability and topline performance within their category, while collaborating with the Amazon Business team to drive growth. The Senior Vendor Manager will oversee the entire scope of their category and vendor portfolio, focusing on driving topline performance and profitability. This includes managing the end-to-end vendor relationship, which encompasses signing new vendors, leading negotiations, managing promotional activities, and resolving operational or logistics issues that may affect customers. The successful candidate will utilize key metrics to develop customer insights that foster innovation and will encourage vendor participation in marketing, merchandising, and promotional activities to stimulate overall business growth. The ideal candidate will balance their responsibilities as a Senior Vendor Manager with the vision for new programs and the delivery of high-impact projects. They will work cross-functionally with finance, marketing, operations, sales, compliance, legal, and Amazon Business. This position is perfect for a results-oriented, entrepreneurial individual who can identify market needs and opportunities, invent creative solutions, and build best-in-class internal processes and programs to enhance both supplier and customer experiences. The Senior Vendor Manager will define product objectives and roadmaps, maintaining focus and driving ideas from conception to delivery. The highest-performing Senior Vendor Managers are results-oriented, entrepreneurial, capable of synthesizing insights from large datasets, and are strategic leaders.
