About The Position

At Fanatics Commerce, we’re more than just a leader in licensed sports merchandise – we’re a team united by a relentless passion for our fans and a commitment to innovation. We live by our BOLD Leadership principles: We Build Championship Teams, we’re Obsessed with Fans, we embrace a Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit, and we approach every challenge with a Determined and Relentless Mindset. If you’re ready to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced environment that thrives on collaboration and growth, we want you to be part of our team. The Senior UX Researcher will lead research initiatives that shape how millions of fans discover, shop, and engage with their favorite teams and products across our digital ecosystem. This role combines deep user empathy with analytical rigor to guide experience design and product decisions across the Fanatics Commerce platform. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering to turn fan insights into meaningful product improvements that enhance conversion, loyalty, and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 6–8+ years of UX or product research experience, ideally within eCommerce, retail, or consumer digital platforms.
  • Expertise across both generative (e.g., field studies, diary studies, journey mapping) and evaluative (e.g., usability testing, prototype validation, A/B testing) research.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy and design decisions at scale.
  • Experience synthesizing complex data into clear, compelling narratives that drive action among senior audiences.
  • Familiarity with tools such as User Testing, Qualtrics, Optimal Workshop, Figma, Amplitude, and SQL is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research for a major product domain (e.g., personalization, checkout, loyalty, or subscription experiences), serving as the primary research advisor for that area.
  • Own domain-level research programs from concept through launch — including multi-phase generative and evaluative studies to explore fan motivations, shopping behaviors, and decision drivers.
  • Shape roadmap direction by uncovering actionable insights that guide prioritization, inform KPIs, and improve end-to-end fan experience.
  • Influence at the strategic level — connecting research findings to larger commerce goals such as increasing repeat purchase, reducing friction, and enhancing fan engagement across web and app experiences.
  • Design and execute mixed-method research plans using qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys, behavioral analytics).
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to translate research insights into opportunities that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Mentor other researchers and designers in applying user-centered research methods and storytelling practices that elevate team impact.

Benefits

  • Wide range of health, financial, legal, and development assistance.
  • Wellness programs with fitness and weight management partners.
  • Paid maternity and paternity leave.
  • Infertility treatment.
  • Flexible time off.
  • Competitive 401k plan.
