About The Position

Roku is looking for an experienced UX Product Designer with strong interaction design skills to lead the design of subscription streaming services for customers in the U.S. and international markets. This will include expanding and improving Roku Channel premium subscription experiences.

Requirements

• Experience designing for streaming services, particularly for onboarding, search, navigation, and browse experiences
• A proven track record in interaction design, with artifacts of the process that help support your design decisions
• Experience collaborating with product managers, developers, and management to refine design concepts through rapid iterations, meeting the goals of both users and the business
• Hands-on experience working with User Researchers (or conducting User Research yourself) and utilizing the results of that research to shape your designs
• Endless empathy for the user

Nice To Haves

• Experience designing for TV streaming services is a plus
• Experience designing for markets outside the U.S. and/or some understanding of how users interact with their TV in Canada and Mexico, is a plus
• A passion for the subtle details behind creating a high-performing, world-class experience

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Product Managers to identify the problems and business goals that your designs will address
• Utilize user journeys to help guide and frame your design approaches
• Design features that will help subscribed users in both the U.S. and in international markets to discover and enjoy shows on the Roku platform
• Collaborate with other Subscription UX Designers to help acquire and retain subscribers
• Partner with strong User Researchers to determine and execute the ideal research methodology to understand user needs and to evaluate your designs
• Own your designs and communicate effectively, articulating your design decisions to colleagues from diverse disciplines
• Collaborate with other designers working on similar projects on the TV platform and on the web
• Give and receive feedback in regular design critiques with your peers and UX management
