We're seeking a UX Engineering Manager to own the iCloud Mail, Calendar, and Contacts User Experiences team, someone who will be an influential force in shaping how millions of people communicate, organize, and connect every day. You'll manage a team that drives feature innovation for some of Apple's most crucial and frequently used experiences. Your engineers won't just translate designs-they'll collaborate as equal partners with Design and Product teams to envision, prototype, and build communication and productivity experiences that push the boundaries of what's possible. In this role, you'll lead engineers who are product innovators first-identifying user struggles in email management, calendar workflows, and contact organization, then proposing and building solutions that directly impact product roadmaps. Your team will build new interaction paradigms for leading information overload, improving cross-platform synchronization, and enabling magnificent collaboration while ensuring experiences feel native and performant across iOS, macOS, and web platforms. You'll bring engineering perspective to early-stage discussions about the future of personal information management, influence feature prioritization based on technical possibilities, and drive innovation initiatives that span multiple product cycles. A key aspect of this position is encouraging a culture where engineers actively contribute to the product's strategy while building solutions that handle the scale and reliability requirements of serving hundreds of millions of users worldwide. This role requires someone who can balance leadership application thinking with hands-on technical leadership, ensuring that Apple's messaging and productivity suite continues to set the standard for intuitive, powerful personal information management across all platforms.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Track record of leading innovation projects for email, calendar, contacts, or related tools.
  • Experience with email protocols (IMAP, SMTP, Exchange) and calendar standards (CalDAV, CardDAV).
  • Knowledge of data privacy, security, and encryption in personal information management.
  • Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG, VoiceOver) and inclusive design practices.
  • Familiarity with user research methodologies for communication and productivity workflows.
  • Experience with performance optimization for applications handling large datasets.
  • Understanding of cross-platform synchronization challenges and solutions.
  • History of mentoring engineers to become strategic product problem solvers.
  • Experience presenting technical concepts to executive leadership.
  • Background building products for hundreds of millions of users with high reliability.
