About The Position

At Disney Experiences Technology (DXT), our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all DXT initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney! This role sits in the Product Design & Creative organization within DXT for Disney Experiences. It works closely with product and tech from across the organization. The Sr. User Experience Designer will report to the Manager, User Experience Design. As a Sr. User Experience Designer, you will be part of the team responsible for designing products that help our guests gain the most enjoyment from their experiences within our Parks, Resorts and Cruises. Beyond providing practical and useful solutions, you will craft digital experiences that connect with our guests on an emotional level, delivering designs with the quality and character expected from Disney. You’ll approach your work from a multidisciplinary, holistic perspective – applying expertise across user experience and interface design – to define and design complete product solutions. You will spend time executing on the vision and the project, while also participating in scoping and estimation discussions.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of related work experience
• Comfortable working in an agile environment
• Experience as an end-to-end multidisciplinary product designer, with demonstrated capabilities across a range of design disciplines including testing
• Strong communication and presentation skills: ability to articulate questions, strategy, design decisions, and updates to leaders and project team members as needed; strong understanding of how their communication impacts the work and business
• Ability to build interactive prototypes
• Strong understanding of design best practices and ability to deliver design assets that meet project goals and enhance the user experience
• Proficient in Figma and a desire to develop further technical skills
• Portfolio required
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience

Nice To Haves

• Experience with premium brands, including e-commerce
• Experience using qualitative and quantitative data to inform design

Responsibilities

• Design original, useful and elegant digital experiences for guests of Disney Experiences worldwide with a focus on our digital products serving Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
• Owns design explorations on their assigned projects, identifying user/business problems, ideation, testing, and the integration of solutions that improve the broader user experience
• Contribute to projects within assigned portfolio, flexing to work independently, partner with other designers and partners, and guiding design work of more junior team members
• Build strong relationships with team members, leaders, and cross functional partners to drive collaboration and innovation on projects
• Provide end to end documentation for projects within their line of business that are in line with our design system
• Partner with cross-functional teams – including other designers, product management, technology and consumer insights – to take work from ideation to reality
• Design product experiences across web, mobile web and native apps (iOS and Android), and emerging tech platforms. May perform user design research
• Apply rigorous design thinking best practices to develop products and experiences that meet at the crossroads of the physical and digital worlds
• You will be encouraged to stay up to date with design trends and emerging technologies
