This position is responsible for the underwriting and analysis of accounts and prospects as assigned to them in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. This position handles financial analysis for clients including high value clients and prospects. This position provides quotes and works with the account management teams and advisors to provide underwriting support for the client or prospective client. This position may work with Underwriting Leadership and give input on Underwriting guidelines and processes and provides the necessary support to the overall production and objectives of the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related concentration, is preferred.
• Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), SPHR or PHR is also preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of insurance and/or benefits related experience, including working with an account management team.

Nice To Haves

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher.
• Ability to learn appropriate insurance company and firm software systems.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to produce clear and effective communication to audiences.
• Capability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews financial performance and provides support for stewardship aspects of clients’ group health plans.
• Build financial analyses with the assistance of our population health consultant and deliver the results to account management and financial advisors.
• May attend client meetings to provide additional support.
• Analyzes and reports on relevant claims data for larger accounts, spotting trends and comparing client data to industry benchmarks.
• Serve as a resource regarding health plan strategy and financials.
• Promotes a culture of vigilance, accountability, collaboration, strong ethical standards and a high degree of client satisfaction.
• Maintains a concern for accuracy, timeliness and completion when interacting with the firm and insurance company partners to minimize potential for errors while demonstrating strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
• Works on large accounts without assistance from leadership.
• Cultivates strong relationships with insurance company partners.
• Manages various priorities and adapts to continually changing job responsibilities.
• Looks for opportunities to improve the firm, Business Segment, and processes.
• Bring issues and discrepancies to the attention of appropriate leadership.
• Completes special projects as assigned.
