About The Position

The Sr Training Specialist for Conductors/T&E at NJ TRANSIT is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering specialized technical training programs for Conductors. This role focuses on ensuring the successful promotion of trainees through effective instructional methodologies and collaboration with various stakeholders. The position requires a strong commitment to continuous improvement in training practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Vocational Education, or related area from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of experience in rail training, rail management, technical program facilitation, or direct experience as a certified conductor.
• A maximum of two years of directly related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the design, development, presentation, and evaluation of technical skills and/or management development training programs.
• Experience using Smart Board technology.

Responsibilities

• Present and deliver technical skills/mentoring training programs for Conductors.
• Identify and analyze training needs related to specific knowledge and/or skills deficiencies for a given population.
• Partner with new Instructors and serve as mentor to deliver training classes, including scheduling and session preparation.
• Collaborate with the RTD's Instructional Design & Development Team to analyze and improve training syllabi and materials.
• Evaluate Conductor training programs and analyze performance data to determine improvement needs for Trainees.
• Review training programs developed by equipment manufacturers and other consultants to enhance course materials.
• Partner with CFR-243 Compliance Specialist to maintain compliance with FRA requirements.
• Maintain detailed records of classes conducted and coordinate curriculum updates.
• Design and develop technical skill training programs in partnership with department stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
