About The Position

We are looking for a Sr. Test Technician in NVH and Fatigue with a collaborative mindset and high-level technical competence. This role is responsible for setup, instrumentation, execution, and troubleshooting complex fatigue and durability tests on materials, components, and tools. The Senior Technician also provides technical guidance and training to junior staff, collaborates with fatigue engineers to improve test procedures, and ensures all testing is conducted safely.

Requirements

  • Requires an education equivalent to a technical associate degree.
  • 5 years of experience testing and using equipment for NVH and Fatigue.
  • Knowledge of test concepts in design and development of products and components.
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and laboratory testing equipment.
  • Experience with shaker and vibration test systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively as a team, while remaining agile in a fast-paced environment.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices for test setup, execution, instrumentation, and data collection.
  • Program and operate advanced data acquisition (DAQ) systems and specialized software to collect precise test data.
  • Perform complex, non-standard fatigue, durability, and life cycle tests in a lab environment.
  • Set up and operate specialized test equipment, including servo-hydraulic machines, load frames, and environmental chambers.
  • Instrument test articles with a variety of sensors, including strain gauges, load cells, accelerometers, and thermocouples.
  • Assist test engineers with root cause analysis of test failures by performing detailed tear-down inspections.
  • Provide clear and concise verbal and written updates on test status and results to engineers and management.
  • Identify opportunities for improving testing processes, lab efficiency, and data quality.
  • Assist in the development and modification of new test procedures and fixturing.
