We are looking for a Sr. Electrical test engineer who combines superb technical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will work with a team of top-notch engineers and will collaborate with multiple spacecraft design, test, and operations teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with lab equipment like spectrum analyzers, signal generators, electronic loads, power supplies, network analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, etc.
  • 5+ years testing with SoCs, DRAMs, FPGAs, multi-gigabit interfaces, power converters, sensors, operational amplifiers, and ADCs/DACs.
  • Experience with schematic and layout ECAD tools.
  • Experience with complex board designs, including high-speed interconnects, high-reliability designs, avionics, vehicle control systems, and/or motor & actuator control electronics.
  • Experience with debugging designs with microprocessors, FPGAs, power supplies, and sensors.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years designing and/or testing with SoCs, DRAMs, FPGAs, multi-gigabit interfaces, power converters, sensors, operational amplifiers, ADCs/DACs, high speed printed circuit boards, and harnessing.
  • Experience with writing test specifications and procedures.
  • Experience with executing test, reporting/ dispositioning bugs, and providing status/results updates.
  • Experience with space hardware qualification (MIL Std 1540 / SMC-S-016).
  • Experience in two or more areas: EMI/EMC test, design verification test, radiation test, reliability test, and vehicle integration & test.
  • Experience as a technical lead designing test systems that have been deployed in a production environment.
  • Experience with setup, control and automation of lab equipment like spectrum analyzers, signal generators, electronic loads, power supplies, network analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Experience with control and automation of thermal chambers for hardware product testing.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.

Responsibilities

  • Work with key stakeholders across hardware and software development teams to define test strategy and requirements.
  • Define electrical component and subsystem test plans as needed to ensure robust electrical designs for space applications.
  • Lead the planning and execution of design verification test, qualification, reliability, and production test campaigns for avionics subsystems.
  • Support the various aspects of the test engineering team through test system architecture, equipment selection, PCB design, harness design, test system build and integration, and test system commissioning and delivery to customers.
  • Lead test system design reviews, test plan reviews, test readiness reviews, and test results reviews.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, RF engineering, mechanical engineering, software, reliability, manufacturing, program management, etc.
