About The Position

The Sr. Telecommunications Tech / LAN Administrator at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and administration of centralized Cisco-oriented local and wide area networks, as well as the Microsoft TEAMS Phone environment. This role involves guiding less experienced staff, managing projects, and ensuring network security and performance. The position requires a strong understanding of networking concepts and the ability to consult with end users to meet their computing needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or 4 years equivalent experience (preferred).
• Five to Eight years of experience in a related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of IT Network principles and concepts.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain Cisco hardware and software.
• Develop detailed work plans for installation and maintenance.
• Guide and direct a team of technicians in network monitoring and operations.
• Support Microsoft TEAMS Phone by configuring and installing physical phones.
• Consult with District end users on LAN/WAN computing needs and provide technical support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve end user problems reported to the Corporate Help Desk.
• Analyze and evaluate systems to meet user needs.
• Manage projects for new LAN/WAN system implementations.
• Analyze network performance data for capacity planning.
• Direct vendor activities and serve as primary contact for support activities.
• Develop and maintain system documentation and operations procedures.
