LOB Specific Job Description Position Summary The Senior Technology Manager is responsible for leading technology delivery, strategic planning, and execution across critical applications and platforms within Bank of America. This role provides senior‑level leadership across technology teams, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards. The role partners closely with business leaders, architecture, risk, compliance, and engineering teams to deliver high‑quality technology solutions that support business growth, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology delivery, engineering, or systems development.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing technology teams or major initiatives.
  • Strong hands‑on background in enterprise application development and modern technology stacks (e.g., React, Java, APIs, integrations).
  • Experience working in Agile delivery models.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, large‑scale initiatives
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Application architecture and integration patterns
  • Vendor Management
  • CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Technology risk and security concepts
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision‑making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience within financial services or large regulated enterprises .
  • Prior experience with platform modernization, cloud migration, or API transformation initiatives.
  • SAFe, Scrum, PMP, or relevant cloud certifications.
  • Ability to influence across senior leadership and drive enterprise‑wide initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives
  • Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills
  • Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met
  • Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization
  • Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain
  • Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers
  • Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders
